die blizzard die! D3?
Ok guys help me out.I am upgrading my system and I also need to buy a new SMPS.Budget is minimal:p.here are my alternatives:
Code:
[b]1. 2.[/b]
Zebronics ZEB-400W - Zebronics ZEB-400W -
Specs:Zebronics ZEB-400W
+12V: 20A +12V: 10A
+5V: 30A +5V: 14A
+3.3V: 28A +3.3V: 14A
+5Vsb: 2A +5Vsb: 2A
-12V: 0.8A -5V: 0.5A
20-Pin ATX12v -12V: 0.5A
                                                   24-Pin ATX12v

Price is around Rs500 for both
Here are my specs:
Intel c2d proccy e6300
Intel 946gzis mobo(sux bigtime)--.*www.intel.com/products/motherboard/D946GZTS/index.htm
2x1gb transcend ddr2 RAm @667mhz
LG dvd-rw
1x80gb sata(wd)
1x250gb sata2(seagate) (ordered)
creative 2.1 speaker system.
XFX 8600gt 256mb(will buy it soon)

From motherboard's Manuel:
The 2 x 12 pin main power connector on the desktop board is backwards compatible
with ATX12V power supplies with 2 x 10 connectors.

Connecting Power Supply Cables
1. Observe the precautions in "Before You Begin" on page 23.
2. Connect the main power supply cable to the 2 x 12 pin connector.
3. Connect the 12 V processor core voltage power supply cable to the 2 x 2 pin
connector.
and here is a pic.:
*img73.imageshack.us/img73/7411/finalia6.th.jpg

Now the questions:
1.which one of the above is more suited for my system?please see the above image and quote. This 2x2 connector is alien to me.
2.
manuel said:
The desktop board supports four Serial ATA channels (3.0 Gb/s) via ICH7, connecting
one device per channel.
Now as far as I know only sata2 supports 3gbps but sata2 in not mentioned in the manuel. What does it mean?My mobo supports sata2 or just sata1?

Thats it.Please make quick replies.I will buy this monday.

somebody help me.

da details bout Zebronics norml 24pin 400w model isn't rite. It has some 17 or 18A on 12v rails.
It cud easily handly the load of ur system. Go for it. If u have lil more to spend, then get Zeb platnum 400w for 1.3k or platinum 500w for 1.9k

Wire muncher!
+12V: 10A
+5V: 14A
+3.3V: 14A
+5Vsb: 2A
5V: 0.5A
12V: 0.5A

This data is certainly wrong. Check for the correct values again. I don't think a modern computer will power up with just 10A on the 12V rail!

Sounds good but there is no difference between this and the ones I mentioned as far as the railing currents are concerned then why the price difference?

platnum series are more efficient nd reliable. It can be compared with say a 550w loacl SMPS.

For eg; CoolerMaster 400W is better than even local 600w PSU.

@devil yes this is exactly true. local smps cant handle over clocked configs.
i think a local 500w smps can handle ur config at stocks only.

actually before buying smps i gave my config to that fair guy with lenses at computer empire and asked him whether that smps can handle it at stocks and he said yes.thats it !!

if dats da case, then get Zeb Platinum 500w. U can easily oc da proccy, mem nd gcard with that. It has gud cooling too with a 120mm LED fan.
It has:
+12v:22A
+3.3v:24A
+5:26A
-12v:0.8A
-5v:0.5A
+5VSB:2.0A

This is enuf for cards upto 8800GTS 320

zeb 500 watt wil also server ur purpose.bt plz, dont compromise on psu.
and if ur going to get XFX 650i Ultra in near future for oc, u ll definitely need a good PSU.

i dont think that Zeb Platinum 500w will pwr a 8800GTS 320MB cuz the recommended rating on the 12v rail is 26A for the 8800GTS.

i've used the Zebby 400w psu with 20a on the 12v rail and it has a 20+4pin connector for the mobo.i dont know why most ppl report that it has a 20pin connector.its a very good psu in the 500 bucks range.easily handled my E4300 oc'd to 3GHz and my 8600GT oc'd to 720|1650|1700.

utsav said:
whats d price of zeb 500W and colorsit 500W

Zeb Platinum 500w will cost bet 1.7-1.9k and Colorsit 500w sud be within 1k.

Now consider the following to be my final system:
c2d e6300
XFX 650i Ultra
1x2gb ddr2 RAM
1x80gb SATA
1x250gb sata2
lg dvd-rw
XFX 8600gt

Now which smps should I buy.I will overclock my system(thats why i am gonna buy 650i ultra).Again costs should be minimal.

I am now seriously considering ZEb 400w platinum but 1.3k sounds too much for a SMPS.lol.

odyssey 500w model : KY-600ATX

+5V: 38A
+12V:17A
-5V: 0.5A
-12V: 0.8A
+3.3V: 28A
+5Vsb: 2A

although ratings of local smps are always susceptible .
