d6bmg,I am using APC (RS 600) ups and its manual clearly states not to use any surge protector you haven't met problem its okay but why take chances:grin:

On your stock cooler heatsink the thermal paste is pre applied but if you are buying a 3rd party heatsink you would have to apply the thermal paste (it comes with heatsink) or you can buy some good thermal paste if you want better cooling.

You mean you have plugged your PSU's Power Cord in to the Surge Protector instead of plugging into the UPS!!

Dont do that, else you will end up burning all components.

Firstly I would like to say thanks to you for pointing out the mistake.
Then what will be the correct setup with UPS, surge protector & PSU? :unsure:
