Samsung has already announced that S Duos & S Advanced will get JB update but what about the entry level mobiles? Well here is the list that is eligible to get JB update in coming months:
  • Galaxy Tab 2.7.0
  • Galaxy Tab 2 10.1
  • Galaxy Note 10.1
  • Galaxy S II
  • Galaxy Note
  • Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus
  • Galaxy S Advance
  • Galaxy S II LTE
  • Galaxy Music
  • Galaxy Chat
  • Galaxy Ace 2
  • Galaxy Beam
  • Galaxy Ace Plus
  • Galaxy Mini II
  • Galaxy S Duos

The most striking addition in the list is definitely the Galaxy Chat which cost mere 8k and Ace Plus that cost 15k. What you think? Samsung trying to ramp sell of these mobiles by announcing updates and later denying it or will they really deliver the goods this time.

LOL this seems to be some joke by Samsung.
If they can upgrade something like Mini 2 to JB then pretty much every Samsung Android deserves JB.

this news will be very much welcomed by DEVs. Chat uses same processor as Galaxy Y, Y Duos, Ace Duos and a few other. Once they release JB, Broadcom/Samsung will release the sources as well as the required audio and video libraries which mean smooth unofficial JB for even ubercheap mobiles like Galaxy Pocket.
And luckily, Mini 2 runs on the now historically ancient MSM7227 which means stable JB for age old models like Optimus One, Ace & Mini. But by that time DEVs would have either fixed the problems using hacks or left the mobile for good.

What is galaxy music?

Galaxy S2 without calling capacity (music player).

Samsung is doing the right thing. Well done...

Companies like LG, HTC and Motorola should learn from them...

Waiting for the new Nexus from Sony and Samsung...

Galaxy S got a "value pack" containing new widgets and touchwiz improvements, AFAIK it didn't even get updated to ICS. Considering Galaxy S Duos gets JB, it's pretty much a cheap shot. The best track record so far IMO is Sony's: Slow as their updates are and with new phones launching with Gingerbread, they still updated nearly all the 2011 Xperias to ICS......

Not confirmed but seems like a few devices like the Arc S, Ray and Neo V MIGHT get JB. In any case if it does come, won't be before January next year. Starting next month 2012 Xperia devices will start getting JB.

Surprising to see Galaxy S Duos, Ace 2, Ace Plus in the list. So Samsung abandoned Galaxy S I9000 coz hummingbird was weaker than Snapdraon Chipset on S Duos?

why no JB for HTC One V. I have long said, it doesn't matter if the update is buggy, lowers performance or have half the feature missing. people won't complain about these but in case one openly says "no update for XYZ", everyone notices that, even ones that have mobile from other manufacturers.

actually my SGS2 with ICS doesn't feel that smooth/responsive/bug free compared to when using Gingerbread. i hope JB will solve those problems but is there anyway i can revert back to older version.

manually download the firmware file and flash it with odin. but in case of some mobiles only certain old version roms can be flashed so any rom mayn't work.
