I think it's that 16 -bit subsystem problem. All the 16 bit application dont work (including DOS or windows installer).

If i rum tally 4.5 from cmd window i get the following error :

"Microsoft Windows XP [Version 5.1.2600]
(C) Copyright 1985-2001 Microsoft Corp.

C:\Documents and Settings\MUNISU>cd\

C:\>cd tally

C:\tally>t

TALLY Abnormal Completion.
Status : 3
Insufficient files provided by DOS.
Internal error. Contact Peutronics.

C:\tally>"

Hence i cannot run tally 4.5 in windows XP, Kindly advise.

I confirmed that autoexec.nt & config.nt are already in the System32 folder hence the 16 bit subsystem solution does not work here.

Also Is a converter for Tally 4.5 Files to Tally 5.4 available? If so please email me to karna31@yahoo.com. I tried the conventional way and tally 5.4 does not accept the tally 4.5 data.

Please help.
