Hello, I am new to linux and have Ubuntu hardy heron installed.

I also have two antivirus installed on the system, clamav and avast. I want to use right click menu shortcuts so that I can scan any file or folder.

In simple words, I want entries in the right click menu something like "scan using avast" and "scan using clamav".

How can this be done?

Dude this ain't windows and even in windows you shouldn't be needing two anti-virus unless you dont start them both.

+1 what ^^ said.

Better use a proper firewall or custom iptable rules rather all these memory hogs.

What DE are you running? For example, if you're on KDE, install nautilus-clamscan for right-click shell integration within Nautilus.

Thanks for the post! Let us not get into discussions regarding the requirement of antivirus in Linux.
I have gnome and not KDE. All I need is shell integration.
I use linux for browsing and any file I download gets scanned for virus/malware before I use them on my windows system.
