6950 2gb will also be an excellent option
MSI R6950 Twin Frozr III Power Edition/OC costs 15.8K
Its Nvidia Counterpart is 560Ti, which is a bit costlier
The difference between 6950 2gb and 1gb is NIL.
Tough in Xfire the 2 2gb versions will perform bit better at 1080p and way better in resolution beyond that. Consider if you may use Eyefinity/Multi-monitor setup

@Omi, for a rig with a powerful GPU like 6870 or above, a good UPS like APC 800va is a must... And a APC 1/1.1KVA is recommended..

MSI gtx 560ti Twin Frozer II - 13.5~14K
MSI gtx 560ti HAWK - 14.5~15K

My vote goes to HD 6950 2 GB Twin Frozr III. The reason is
1. 2 GB of GDDR5 ram, might be very helpful in the upcoming shader heavy games
2. Twin Frorzr III cooler and custom PCB offers better cooling and higher overclocking potential
3. It is a highly factory overclocked version and performs very close to GTX 570 or HD 6970 out of the box.
4. It can be unlocked to its bigger brother HD 6970.

If its 6950 2GB Twin Frozr III or 560ti HAWK, then definitely the 6950 2GB..

But i guess OP is tight on budget..

well as for budget i will try if its for the better,

@cilus how can 6950 be unlocked to 6970 ?

MSI Z68MA-ED55(B3) @ 10500 seems to be available and i guess Gigabyte GA-Z68MA-D2H-B3 is not available..well what is difference between the two..

All the reference 2 GB models are unlockable but most of the custom designs are not unlockable. Example is the HD 6950 Twin Frozr II 2 GB.

But the Twin Frozr III version is unlockable. But ya, the chance is not 100%. Still it makes more sence due to its efficient cooler and custom PCB design and factory overclocking.

JTDhabal, here is the 6950 to 6970 unlocking guide.

if you are not going to SLI/X-fire your graphic card, then Intel DZ68DB is a good option for 7200/- with USB 3.0, SATA 3 etc.
