Guyz want to ask....hw much better is the 1920X1080 to an 1366X768....for a 15 inch laptop...is it worth paying an xtra 3k for it...laptop use will be for programming(primarily), gaming(nfs, fifa, halo) and movie viewing and also some word and power point projects. Which of the two resolution will be more comforting to work on?
is the difference b/w 1920X1080 and 1366X768 only in the size of objects on the screen or the over all picture quality?

Usual 1366x768 panels - Not so sharp text, pathetic contrast ratio, bright greyish blacks, poor colors, washed out appearance.

Usual 1920x1080 panels - Sharp but tiny(for some) Text, lot more room to work with, 500:1 or higher contrast ratio, blacks look believably black (almost), vibrant and punchy colors.

dude, take 1080p without any further negotiation..
Though for programming i can't say (i find text in 768p of right size, smaller than it will definitely put strain to my eyes..), but for movies, you will be blown out by the clarity..
Gaming, no, you won't be gaming in 1080p with 7730m, but you can try.. :)
I was too waiting for 1080p, but could'nt wait as my classes were just to start @ that time..
Overall, take it, it's a steal in 3k..

I remember Dell used to give 1080p upgrade option in XPS for some ~6k. 3k is really a steal. ;)

Gaming is possible in 1080p but depends which games do you play and how much you eye candies you can live without. If you can leave eye candies off, then gaming @ 1080p will be absolute butter smooth.

PS: I game in 1080p on a 6630M :)

IMO you won't feel any difference with 1080P on 15inch monitor.. go with 1366x768 and save 3K. It is 720p screen..

I believe text will be more smaller in higher resolution plus for movies you won't feel any difference..

For Full HD (1920 x 1080) 20-22 plus screen is recommended.. at least.

But your choice.. it's your money.. be careful think twice.. better wait then regret latter if in doubt

of course if money is not a problem then obviously go for Full HD

geek........
dell has decreased their screen quality very much in the last year. I have 1st gen i3 dell laptop and it's screen feel like watery and colour reproduction is real good but on my friends 2nd gen i3 laptop the screen looks washed out.

Just get FHD laptop considering that the price difference is very less while the difference in using both will be huge
