u could get a10(around price of i3 )and 7850 1gb version (~13K) and that would do......

dont go i5 while compromising on gpu......

+1 except changing i3 for a10
A10 does not have l3 cache, can have major effect while playing games.

Was tested on phenom vs athlon

Hey guys,i had a "yellow tint" issue on my very old HP vp17 LCD monitor(i have updated this and some other points in the OP,please have a look at it)
and it magically fixed itself after calibration
I have decided that i will use this monitor for my new rig.
the budget of 40k will now be used exclusively for Cabinet and its contents(CPU,GPU,HDD,PSU etc)
Which of the two configs will be best for playing the latest games on native resolution of my monitor(1280 x 1024) for about 3 years from now?
i may also upgrade to a Full HD monitor next year.

so you mean to say the i3 in i3/hd 7850 config will cause a bottleneck on my resolution?

In older games, i3 + HD 7850 will perform better but there is a high chance that in upcoming Multi-Core optimized games, i3 might be the main source of bottleneck.
