This would my first Phone related thread here on TDF.. so please help guys.. :)

My Budget: Rs. 5000,
and upto Rs. 8000, if Android (and EMI).

Requirements: (And STRICTLY in this order)
1. Web Surfing (A must, so larger the screen the better)
2. Dual Sim (It's also a must, since I can't carry two phones)
3. QWERTY Keypad (I can do w/o it, if it has large screen).

Rest: Sound, Music, Camera, Games, etc are secondary.

What I have Shortlisted till now:

  1. Motorola EX109
  2. Motorola EX115
  3. Nokia C2-03
  4. Nokia C2-06

Click Spoiler to see pics of these handsets...

I also have some other doubts in mind:
  • Can I also look for brands like Micromax, since my budget is low?
  • Should I buy mobile from sites like Flipkart?
  • Since I can choose an Android phone, even if it doesn't have dual sim option, is there some way to get EMI options in them?

Thanks in advance to anyone helping me, get my next phone!.. :p

Well, it's better than No Android! Isn't it!?
And btw, I am inclined more towards Non-Android, Web-Connected, Dual Sim phones.

Samsung Star II or Nokia C2-03

Can I also look for brands like Micromax, since my budget is low?

Android is fun when you start modding it. and without a community help you out, you'll be stuck at the same OS forever (maybe).

also if you want dualsim, Nokia & Samsung have some really feature rich mobiles at good price. so avoid local brands.

Should I buy mobile from sites like Flipkart?

only if the mobile isn't available locally. or the price is too high.

Since I can choose an Android phone, even if it doesn't have dual sim option, is there some way to get EMI options in them?

hmmm, i think homeshop18 offers & so do mobile store.

My friend has the android offering from micromax and is quite happy with it. Recently saw another friend with what I think was Samsung pop (i don rem).
I guess these phones around 7-8k will be good, if you really want to jump into the androids.

That nokia however will give you more battery life, better support (I think its safe to say India has the most number of Nokia Service centres) and familial OS. Don't know how good it is for internet though. I feel myself tipping towards android for internet browsing. If its gingerbread then the stock OS is also very good.

Go with Nokia C-series phones, but very few has dual sims. Personally i don't like Motorola's OS, but samsung is great in this department and Nokia is also catching up fast!

Motorola uses some custom java OS. it'll be great if they continue to use Montavista & EZX linux like they did with ROKR line of smartphones.

those were pretty cool stuff, but RAZR didn't had any solid OS. I doubt that the phones vineet has mentioned does implement linux!

Is the motorola UI still inverted with back key on the right side?

The moto Razr was a pain to use. If it wasn't for its gorgeous looks it would have ended in trash.

I vote for Nokia too
But Micromax is known to cram more features into a small package and their service is good too. Got a bling repaired for free once.

I would consider Micromax, if I get a good deal with Android on it.

Well, does it matter? Eventually, everybody gets used to.

This would help:
The two quad-band dual SIM dual standby devices, the C2-03 and C2-06, have the same Easy Swap feature, or a hot swappable SIM card slot, as the Nokia C2-00. The only difference between the C2-03 and C2-06 is that the latter comes in a different colour scheme. As for the pricing, the C2-02 and C2-03 phones are expected to start at 75 Euros, or roughly Rs. 4,800, and C2-06 is expected at 80 Euros, or roughly Rs. 5,200.
