[Question]Difference between AM2+ & AM3 sockets

From what I have read on various websites, I have concluded that

1. Any AMD's AM3 socket CPUs such as Phenom II X4 CPUs will work without any problem on AM2+ socket-based motherboards.

2. AM2+ socket-based CPUs will not work on AM3 socket-based mobos.

Am I right ? Just confirming.

^^ yup. right. though running AM3 proccy on AM2+ board needs a bios update. also not all Phenom II X4 are AM3. eg: Phenom II X4 920 & 940. these two are AM2+ & won't work in AM3 board, though both phased out now.
