Hey! This is my config :

Intel C2D E6550 overclocked to 3.0 Ghz
MSI P6N SLI V2
2x512 MB DDR2 667 Mhz RAM overclocked to 860 Mhz
nVidia 8600 GT overclocked to 670/800
Seagate 160GB SATA 7200RPM HDD
LG DVD +- RW drive

The problem is that recently i have been experiencing random BSODs and my Comp would hang up and restart. I thought it was due to my overclocking but i tested with Orhtos for 8 hours and tested my GPU for 8 hours with Atitool. Both passed with no errors.

Then i downloaded SeaTools to test my Hard Disk. Even that passed the test.

Now I am pretty sure it is a PSU problem. I have a generic Power supply that came with my Zebronics case. It is 350W and says "AC 230v" on the back. I read that generic power supplies do not give as much power as they are rated. So is my PSU causing the problem?

If yes, can you suggest an adequate one for less than Rs. 2000? If no, then what could be the problem?

P.S. I got my Case+PSU for 1000 Rs., So it is really a bad PSU.

^^hell man you're running your system on generic 350watt psu!!

you neet a good quality 400-500watt psu.get zebronics platinum 400-500watt.costs 1.2k-1.8k.

Pee into the Wind...
350w is too less for your config.Get atleast a 450w branded PSU.Powersafe and Zebronics PSUs are available below 2k.Go for them.

Okay, just an update with something i forgot to mention.

I actually have allocatedonly 139GB of my 160 GB. Why? Because if i allocate the other 21 GB , my system falls apart. It refuses to recognise my SATA disk and cannot even boot. As soon as i unallocate the 21GB , it goes back to random BSOD mode.

Does this further explain the PSU problem?

i think its due to 48 bit LBA addressing mode disabled on ur system

i am not sure*gigasmilies.googlepages.com/39.gif

it is a addressing system used by OSes to store data in the computer.after 137GB of storage space.OS needs that 48 bit addressing mode to be enabled.that can be enabled by a registry hack.u will get that hack in the Fast Track to Registry.get the pdf file from someone or the book if possible.this book was given last yr with digit
