I heard of psu many times in this forum but didnt understand actually. Does it relate to power supply? If i buy a graphic card for my system do i need a separate power supply? I have no idea about the specifications of my smps , currently a 7200GS is working in it.i want to buy a 9500GT or above . do i need a psu or will it work with my old smps?

PSU is Power Supply Unit.it provides power for all the components in you PC.
No you don't need an separate one for you GFX card. You just have to buy one PSU that is powerful enough to supply power to the whole system.
though im not sure i guess when using 9500GT you need a good 400watt PSU.

I have already discussed abt graphic card in the main thread but i am reapeating it here again
My spec
Intel p4 HT 3Ghz
Intel D101GGC
Ram DDR1 400 1gb x 2=2gb and thats the max
Having PCI e x 16 slot now a 7200GS in it(giving poor performance with games)
Since my pc is old and cant be upgraded later, it wont be a wise move to invest a huge amt for the card(bcoz future games may require 4gb ram and c2d or above will be must)
So my budgest is near 4000/-
Got sum suggestions
8600GT,9500GT,HD 4350 etc..
I need a card for this spec looking for a '512 MB DDR3' one
I need smoother gameplay at 768 x1024
Need more suggestions...

I'm telling u the options performance wise, tht means 2 is more powerful than 1.

1. 8600GT 256MB DDR3 @ 3k(very rare now)
2. 9500GT 512MB DDR3 @ 3.7k
3. HD4650 512MB DDR2 @ 4.8k

Ur best bet for the resolution 1024x728 4:3 aspect ratio, most probably CRT is 9500GT.
