have u plugged the right cable in right slot?
Check that the green cord is in green slot and the pink one in the poink slot and leave the blue on empty!

1) Make sure you have inserted mic cord in right jack of sound card.
2) you have updated sound card driver
3) you have selected proper device as recording device in sound manager.

Test from here:
start-->>All program-->>Accessories-->>Entertainment-->>sound recorder.

Just adding to that check that recording device volume is properly set.

try to play with your sonud card driver setting & windows sound setting 1st.
If your mobo or sound card is based on realtek HD audio chip & if your headphone mic is mono then you have no choice but buy another stereo headphone.

My frontec headphone mic is not also working with my new mobos realtek HD audio chip coz according to realtek their HD chip only accepts only stereo input.
But my techcom headphone which has labled that it's a stereophonic headphone has no probs.
