Hi Guys!

I have a Nokia 6600 and I have a feeling that it has some kind of a virus because of which the phone has become very very slow. I am thinking of formating the cell but before that I need to take a backup of all my contacts. As I dont have Bluetooth in my computer, I am unable to take a backup. I have another Nokia 6600, Nokia 6630 and Nokia 3250. Is it possible to backup contacts using any of these phones or by any other process. I dont want to take a full backup as the virus can also get backed up, so just the contacts.

Please help.

Thank you.

Connect your phone with your computer using data cable and take backup of whole phone or selected data using pc suite

Put another SIM card in your 6600 and copy all the contacts to that SIM. Or you can send all the contacts via Bluetooth to one of your other phones.

Transferring contacts one by one via bluetooth is gonna take hell lot of time. Transferring to SIM is not possible as I have about 1500 contacts.

i dont know abt 6600, but Nokia 3250 or all other new gen symbian phones have some thing called as Sync in connectivity with can sync the data between compitable devices, see if this help, other wise you have to buy a bluetooth dongle or may be transfer the contact to memory card and then take the backup by cardreader

theres a file called contacts.cdb in "c:\system\data" .it holds all the contacts, try copying it to mmc using fexplorer. although I dont know if u can replace it once u have formatted since FE will give an error saying "file in use" most of the time.
