Hi!
I decided to remove Ubuntu 8.10 as it was taking up most of my HDD space.
I did what one of the forum members said; go to recovery console by WinXP CD, and enter fixmbr. But when I enter the console, it asks me the administrator password. Now when i don't have one, what do I type?

Did you install XP yourself? If yes, then while installing you surely would have created an Admin a/c and a password.

Another way is to restore your windows mbr. So use Super Grub Disc and boot from it and restore Windows mbr. This would remove Grub from your computer. Then simply delete the Ubuntu partition.

If you have Floppy drive then download Windows 98 Bootable Floppy from bootdisk.com. Boot from Floppy and execute this
Code:
fdisk /mbr
It will remove GRUB.
You can use SuperGRUB ( supergrubdisk.org ) CD, USB or Floppy too but its website is down for last few days. I can post a link of its mirror if you want.
