hello friends

i have compaq presario m2000 laptop after booting of windows there is message a disk read error occured . press ctrl+alt+delete to restart, this keeps on occuring again and again, i conducted hard drive self diagnostic test through BIOS test results were - #1-07 Fail.what does that mean ?
my question is has hard disk crashed ? what are the signs which show that hard drive has crashed.

you need a replacement hard disk from the look of it..as it has failed
no problem in replacing a laptop hard disk

and also be aware to buy a surge protector for your laptop
