Problem at Boot time

I had windows Xp installed earlier later I uninstalled XP and I installed Win 7 but during booting it's showing 2 options "Older version of Windows" and "Windows 7" I don't mind this but it would be fast if it loads to win 7 directly instead of this annoying option.

Can someone help me. I am a newbie.

Go to my computer properties
Go to advanced system settings
Go to advanced
Go to advanced startup & recovery
Select default os as windows 7:grin::grin::grin::grin:

1. Start
2. Type msconfig
3. Choose Boot
4. Delete the instance you do not want -- or make the default to the choice you desire.
5. Restart.

I tried doing that.. It has only one instance i.e Windows 7 (c:\Windows) : Current OS; Default OS

Nothing else.

What about going to

Right click on my computer, properties, advanced, start up and recovery.

What is it showing there. Check the drop drop..?

Also..do this....

Goto a command prompt window, and type: bcdedit.

Make a screenshot and paste here.

In the drop down there is that older os thing and Window 7. Windows 7 default...

I tried bcdedit in command prompt I get errror saying: The boot configuration data store could not be opened.
