finally, was able to get a sansa clip+ (2 GB - for 2k), on another forum. fellow-member here, bubusam13, was of immense help in choosing the clip+ over its other competitors:

EDIT:
just found out that the seller is a member on TDF too. his username is manohar387. will now leave feedback in the relevant thread.

^Congratulations. Sandisk clip zip would have been the better deal imo.

thanks!
and perhaps yes, but i couldn't come to like the look of the zip more than that of clip+. also, was highly doubtful that i would've got a zip for cheap (because of it being new, and having a bigger & coloured-screen, and if i remember it correct, few more features than clip+) in a seconds deal. didn't want to pay more for a bigger screen-size, which would not be of much use to me. so, may be, the next time, when the zip also becomes obsolete (and when i need to buy another PMP, as Fuze/Fuze+ is not for me). :)

I need to create an FTP wifi server at home.

Is anything like this available in India?

Turn external hard drives into network storage via USB with Addonics NAS adapter | ZDNet

What are my other options?

I know there are routers that provide USB feature, but I already have ADSL wifi Modem. So woudnt want to buy another router as long as possible.

(Dont want to use another computer either.)

YGPM!! :)

SQ is very good indeed! i felt it to be very neutral. this is perhaps the only player of all the PMPs i have lent my ears to, that sounds so good in 'normal' mode in the EQ-settings! i had one apprehension about bass before buying this, but upon hearing on an EP-630 IEM, am more than pleased with the bass-response of the player! its not at all boomy, but tight & punchy, wherever required.

am PMing you regarding your need.

sansa clip zip... whats the use. Is anyone going to watch movies on that tiny low res screen ? Better watch in mobile phone. If sound is the preference, then Clip is the best choice coz u will just need a screen to see the song titles unlike iPod shuffle.
(most of the album art u see on zip will be of songs.pk or songslover :mario-run: )

Congrats GhorMaanas

Get a mSD card and increase its memory. It supports upto 32 GB card + 2 GB internal makes a massive 34 GB for this tiny player
