Yaa, disk brakes in cycle...

There was also an option for rear disk brakes, but I didn't like it as it doesn't let me make "skids"

And why dont we have a separate thread for all this "Cycle related discussion".., I see a lot of cyclists here...

Well nice suggestion But how come rear disc wont let you make skids ? If i guess, it will make skid much more easier, becoz disc locks the wheel very easily, isn't it ?

Well, disc brakes allow making skid too, but for that you need to go at very high speed..
Making skids is even more easier with "V-brakes" as I just have to pull the lever...

^ thnx for sharing, ya V-brakes are much better brakes than normal brakes and make a "screeech" sound too It first came in MTB's if i remember correctly. Fir bhi i cant digest how V-brakes can allow skids better than discs? The high speed thing doesn't applies in bike, so it sholdn't also apply in cycle too, isn't it ?

But I guess disc brakes dont let the tire move at all, where as V brakes "jam" the tire and still let it move a little(without rotating) so it results in skids... not sure

I first saw V brakes in Hercules DTB..

^ Well jamming and locking are pretty same thing dude. And c'mon if you go by physics, skidding is more possible on that brake system which locks the tyre instantly. The friction of tyre with the ground decides how "long" will it skid, depending on the type of road and tyre's friction coefficient. Same happens in bike, so should in cycle.

Ya, hercules introduces V-brakes. I remember cycle wala's saying in my childhood days, that V-brakes are not much reparable, so get a normal brake

I exchanged my 6 year old Numeric Digital 600 Plus UPS which now is dead & bought an iBall Nirantar UPS-621 for my sister.

I purchased it from a local dealer for Rs 1400/- (inclusive of Rs 200/- off for the exchange).

As of now, the UPS is charging for a stipulated 8 hours prior to first time use.
