Updating Gaming Rig
Hi Guys, Long time to post my updates, so here are fews.
1. Razer Megasoma Mouse Pad (very expensive for a mouse pad )
2. Microsoft Sidewinder X8 Wireless Gaming Mouse (3400/- inc Tax)
3. MSI GTX 470 Graphics Card (18000/- inc Tax)
4. My old Logitech G15 Gaming Keyboard (4350/- inc Tax in Year 2008)
.......Continuing with Diwali shopping updates. .
5. Coolermaster HAF-X Cabinet (11900/- Inc Tax)
6. Scythe Kaze Server (2850/- Inc Tax)

Continuing again with my updates. This is my last upgrade (of the year :-D ).

Retired my ASUS 19" 16:10 giant LCD (shown in my last post).
Searched the market but all were 1080 Wide-screen movie monitors.

I was not interested in 16:9 monitors with so called "no visible black-strip in HD movies"
(that is how 1920x1080 Full HD screens are being promoted).

Then finally picked 24" Dell Ultrasharp U2410 IPS Panel monitor.
it has my favorite 16:10 aspect ratio + 1920x1200 res.

First impression about this monitor was, it is HUGE with two DVI, VGA,
Composite, HDMI and "Picture in Picture" feature.

Another interesting feature is its "Proximity Sensor", yes you read it correct.
Its menu buttons has Proximity Sensor and when you take your finger close
to ~1 cm of any menu button without touching it lit up blue LED light so
user can find where the main menu button is. . (cool stuff  )

Being an IPS panel one can watch it from any angle without Color Shift.
Screen rotation, inbuilt 2 USB ports and a Card reader are just icing over cake.
After calibration, colors are extremely brilliant in Metro 2033, DIRT 2 and GRID @ max setting.

Picked a locally available stock. . .For ... ahhhhhhhhhhmmmmmm...:meditate: . .
24" Dell Ultrasharp U2410 IPS Panel monitor. - (29150/- Inc Tax)

Thanks for reading this far, now enjoy the shots.. ..

It comes in plane safe package .

Size comparison of boxes. .. (Dell 24" and 19" TFT both are 16:10 Aspect Ratio)

Matching with HAF-X cabinet...

GTX 470 is one damn good card, running 1920x1080 games are piece of cake on it.

Three yrs ago I purchased CM-600W PSU for my future use  , this PSU practically
gives 500W efficient output and on it I'm running
GTX470 + C2D OC + 3GB DDR2 + Audigy2 + DVD-RW + 2 Black(RAID 0)
+ 2 Green (Storage)+ HAF-X fans + Kaze Server + 4 CCFL + 1Ultra Kaze 3000RPM.

Compared to mine your PSU gives ~ 90% efficiency. it can
surely run a GTX470 (better wait and get a GTX570).

For 2TB, don't give it jerk while it is accessing data and make sure your electricals
have proper earthing.

If you already have 3 monitors then DO go for Red Camp Eyefinity.
Else, save money for big bang. . .

Hi virus!! Dont know if I can afford GTX 570! :p :p but thanks for your advice!! Also no money for 3 monitors!! Will be happy with one 24 inch...yet to buy it!! Will definitely ask here once am ready!!! heheheeheh!!

What do you mean by "dont give jerk"?? I mean, my room is quite small and the compu table is quite near the bed and I usually/occasionally bump against the chassis......Are you saying, one well-aimed bang, and my WD is poof??? Oh My GOD!! :wah::wah::wah::wah::wah:

Nah, If you give it a big "Jhatka" even then it will not go completely bad. A punch while its writing/reding data would be bad.

Bittorrent is downloading something, am copying a file somewhere and listeening to some music...reading and writing gojng on in HDD rght??? then, I feel the sudden urgent need to empty my tank and on my way to the washroom, deliver a big "jhatak" to the chassis!! Next, smoke, whirr and 4700 bucks down the drain..not to mention all the downloaded thingies and the 4 servers running on the system!!!!!!!

Is that the picture guys??? WTF...I had a P4 running a 40GB Seagate PATA for 7 long years and it patiently tolerated all I threw at it literally!! Now I upgrade and this!!??!! Ugghh!!!!! @#%@!%%!%#@%

1) If you remove the bold part, Its hardly reading/writing.
2) A big Jhatka is like if your chassis falls down or something as big as that.

It'll be just a little less reliable than 40GB one. No need to lose sleep.

What do you mean by "dont give jerk"??

Wo wo wo .. .. Wait guys. . I meant for "Hard drive", not the cabinet.

Now, posting one illustration pic so you guys not get confuse again.
Edge is ~2 cm high, assume that mobile cover as drive and it slipped
itself from the edge.
My 160GB OS SATA slipped from 1cm height, after that
S.M.A.RT. reported drive inaccessible due to shock.
If you want you can perform this experiment again and post the result.
You may never keep you drive like that or may be in some other slipping position, so just be careful.

and if you don't have proper earthing you'll get Bad sectors frequently
in the drive (tried and tested. . . again ) ).

(Pic is only for illustration assume mobile cover as drive with cables
attached. No more debate over "where is the hard disk in the pic" . .)
What if it slips from 2cm height ? ? ? ?
