First if all its treble heavy & mids upfront, bass is just required & tight but not plenty for bass heads. So better think of SR 950 closed ended with velour pads. Velour pads are comfortable.Im looking to buy Samson SR850 headphones, there's one version that comes with 2 units, Samson SR850 Studio Headphones, 2-Pack: Amazon.in: Musical Instruments
It will save about Rs 800, if anyone wants to buy this, with me in Bhubaneswar, please contact me (PM)
Recently a member v.Na5h got single piece with velour pad while when I bought pack of 2 in February 2014 I received pleather pads which are uncomfortable as it feels sweaty after 30 mins of use.
Sr 850 is most neglected set by me not even played for 50 hours. I had read it takes 100 or even 200 hours to settle bass.
They are transparent & show flaws in recording or poorly encoded files easily.
Sr850 may not be everyone's cup of tea so get an demo first.
Off late I prefer my philips shl3300 for headphones & sm pl30 or e30 in iems.
Sr950 would be best bet imho.
