AN amp won't be needed but an amp will improve sound quality.

I own the M50x. You don't need an amp. A dac might help. But amp is not needed.

Samsung EVO is best-bang-for-buck but it is not the best. In performance Samsung Pro is better and SanDisk Pro even better. Add to it 10 years warranty for SanDisk vs. 3-years for Samsung EVO and you know which will give peace-of-mind....
