I have a Asus mobo before with VIA audio chip and it sounded good. Bass were punchy. But after a RMA it got it replaced with a much high-end Asus mobo with Realtek audio Chip which doesnot sound much good compared to the old VIA one. Sound is just OK, Bass is muddy.
So I bought this ASUS XONAR DGX sound card for 2.1 K from MD and combined with my F&D A520 they produce awesome sound. Tight punchy bass, and great highs. Now I m listening sounds I never heard before in a song. The DAC is great. It also comes with a headphone Amplifier.
F&D A520 produce over powering bass but with this sound card, Hi-Fi mode turned on, I m getting much much better sound. The reason I didn't go with creative live is negative reviews and I somewhere read on the internet that it uses CPU power for processing audio where as Xonar have a dedicated chip. Donno much but it's good.
