Pocket Hard Drive and My LG DVD Player

Hi!

i wanted to connect a Pocket hard disc (say 500gb) to my dvd player , i wanted to know that as the dvd player recognizes pen drives , will it recognize the hard disc ???????
also which one will be efficient and economical (around 4K)

Whether DVD player USB port will supply necessary power to Pocket HDDs?
I tried transcend 320gb Pocket HDD with philiphs DVD player.
But it is not working due to insufficient power.
It may work with external power adapter.

It will work, but the HDD need to have a single partition and it should be FAT 32 format. Then you can play it. Assuming Pocket HDD means 2.5" USB powered external HDD
