pls help me on multiple boot screen of windows

hi ,i have installed xp in one drive and vista in another for some reason i deleted vista n xp was telling ntldr missis n even xp was not booting so wit help of xp cd i repaired that problem in bootcfg command in tat i added something rebuild n etc i dont know wat it now my xp boots but at begginning it shows three boots
first one as: (empty no name)
second one:1(oly no1 s showing)
third one as:windows xp(the usual one)

all this will boot the same xp but i needed oly one to b there as windows will start automatically n boot to tat dont wany all rest to shown while booting....pls someone help me out in this how to remove.

Boot in 2 XP n type "msconfig" at Start>Run............Move 2 "BOOT.INI" tab and click "Check all boot paths"..............the boot paths which no longer exists will get fixed...........

Or if u want 2 edit "BOOT.INI" file manually..............right click on "My Computer" and select "Properties"...............now move 2 "Advanced" tab and click "Settings" on "Start Up And Recovery" coloumn.................now click "Edit" 2 edit "BOOT.INI" file manually..........[N.B. : Itz only for advanced user]

m getting an error while editing it n while save changes i get as error as

cannot create c:/boot.ini.file
make sure the path name and file name are correct

should i go to edit option do some thing r wat bro???
