I guess the future of 4K is bright already, and Philips just made the pricing awesome so that everyone can get the taste. In three to four years I am seeing the FHD craze will shift to 4K, as a standard factor.

Philips is launching a budget-oriented 28-inch 4K monitor (3840 x 2160 pixel resolution). The company’s asking price for the high-resolution monitor is $599/€599, making it one of the most affordable 4K displays out there.

The Philips 288P6LJEB outputs the UHD resolution at 60Hz and comes with VGA, DVI, HDMI 1.4 (with MHL support) and DisplayPort 1.2 connectivity. There is also a USB hub sporting two USB 2.0 and two USB 3.0 ports as well as a two 3W speakers.

For the price, you also get a nice stand which features pivot/swivel functionality and an adjustable vertical mount that can be elevated by 15cm.

The 300cd/m2 TN panel sports a dynamic contrast ratio of 50,000,000:1, while response time is 1ms. The monitor will be available in the US and Europe for $599 and €599, respectively.
