I have a pen drive which some how got corrupted. It happened as I took it to a cafe attached it to the PC then (escan was installed there thus had to enter password before using) inserted password it came up with the files and further it was gone with showing only the drive which I was unable to access or format as it said please insert a disk in i:\.
I tried to format at my home via following methods:
1.in win7
2.Ubuntu
3. via booting through win7 DVD xp cd and ubuntu cd.
4. tried software provided in hiren's boot cd 13.1 for them.
5. tried low level formatting

I there any hope to restore the Pendrive.

Legend Never Ends
1. Log in as Administrator account in windows or any other account with administrative privileges

2. Insert your removable disk into the USB port.

3. Click Start, now right click on my computer and select manage

4. Now, click Disk Management

5. Right click on your removable drive partition and select Change Drive Letter and Paths under Disk Management ( you can find your drive easily through size )

6. Change the drive letter some other drive letter like X: or Z: which is not reserved by some other drive on windows.

P.S- I think pendrive may be dead. What is brand of your pendrive?

Quite possible but you see the way it became useless I am just trying to figure if there is a way to revive it.

@OP: What kind of "inserted password" are you talking about in the first post? You said,
"inserted password it came up with the files and further it was gone with showing only the drive"

So you mean, at first files were shown, and then it suddenly vanished? :?
Can you clarify the point. With the error message you are facing, drive is most probably gone kaput. Replacing it is the BEST option, if you have the original bill.

escan blocks pen drives use when it is inserted in the pc unless the user authorizes by inserting the password set by the admin for its use.

yes

Posting the screen shot while I try to format or access the drive.

Kaput! I think so.Can't avail as last year the drive case was busted although the drive was working quite nicely. Otherwise wouldn't have posted the thread in the first place.
Try formatting it in Linux if possible :)
Sorry to be rude but did you read the thread properly as I have mentioned what I tried before posting.

Any way bought new one.
