peer to peer on winxp

hi,
wanted to connect 2 pcs both running winXp and havin a Lan-card....

even got the proper 'cross-cable'... everything was working fine when all of a sudden my pc stopped getting a ping reply form the other pc..even loopback isn't working! but icna see that pc in the networkplaces..

this problem occured the other way round a couple of days back... ie..same with the other pc! what do i do??

Check the cable once again!

Hummmm....seems like a strange problem mate.....anyways first detatch all the cables and fit the lan card properly in the slot and then reconnect and try re-installing the drivers and try setting the Lan card speed to 10Mpbs or 10 Half-Duplex or Lastly try Auto Sense.
