@OP: Which UPS do you have and what is its wattage in VA?

I don't have any and I can survive without one.

I think you misunderstood UPS with PSU, don't you? I think that because UPS has nothing to do with PC configuration, IMHO!

Neerav

Hi Vkl

that's awesome, thanks!

I have extended my budget to 50k and I have settled with following, changes in your recommendation because of some brand preference,

Processor: Intel i5 2400 @10.8k
Motherboard: Intel DH67CL @5.5k
RAM: Corsair value(1333MHz) 4GB @1.3k
HDD: WD Caviar Blue 500GB - 4k
PSU: Corsair 430CX V2 @2.3k
Optical drive: Asus DRW-24B3ST @1.1k
Cabinet: NZXT source 210 elite @2.5k ( How is it better than cooler master 310 elite? )
Monitor: Dell ST2220L @9.2k
Graphic Card: Sapphire AMD/ATI HD 7770 1 GB GDDR5 @10k
Keyboard/Mouse: Microsoft 2000 @1.5k
Total=48k

I'll be heading to purchase components on Saturday. If there's anywhere I can apply minor upgrade, do let me know as I still have 2k extra to spend somewhere.

Do I have to purchase extra cooler? Is it sufficient to have Corsair 430CX V2 power supply?

thanks again!

@n33rav

What funskar is saying is right.HD7850 would be much better for gaming.

Corsair cx430v2 is more than sufficient for your current config.
If you want to go for a very high end graphic card in future then you can change it to
corsair cx500v2 or Seasonic S12 II 520W.
CX430v2 can handle easily handel a hd7850 with your config.
Moreover with every generation TDP of the cards is dropping.
Corsair cx500v2 is available for 3.3-3.5k,pick it if you can.

I don't think he misunderstood thats why he asked your wattage in VA...
Now coming to your question, if you are into some serious counter-strike then i think you would like to go for a better mouse and pad. For all other games any mouse and a decent pad will do.
Mouse Logitech G400-1.8k
Mouse pad- Razer Goliathus Fragged Omega- 500 Rs

Don't go for non-full-HD monitor. It makes no sense to buy a new monitor in present time which is non Full HD. Also spend a little more on GPU and go for 7850. Its an excellent GPU for its price and can max out most of the games with decent fps. You can save few thousand bucks on the monitor by going for Benq G2222HDL and use that for getting a better GPU. If you really want to game then i think to utilise the potential of your system and resolution of your monitor 7850 will be the optimal choice.

Corsair GS500 is a very good PSU but will cost you around 4k. I think CX500v2 will be enough for even 7870.

You won't be needing extra cooler, stock cooler would be enough. Just remember to keep a good airflow inside your cabinet with atleast 2 fans- 1 in front for intake and 1 in rear or top for exhaust.

P.S. Anything wireless is a big No-No for Counter Strike be it Mouse, keyboard or router. +1 to funskar for the "budget-jugaad" suggested :-D .

Thanks guys!

All HD 7850 cost is above 16k which I can not afford. Besides I am not a serious gamer either so I decided to stick with HD 7770 and wireless combo as I think it is more comfortable then wired one.

Following is final list, I go with Benq monitor to save few bucks, increased hdd size to 1TB and Ram to 8GB.

Processor: Intel i5 2400 @10.8k
Motherboard: Intel DH67CL B3 @5.5k
RAM: Corsair DDR3 4 GB (2 x 4 GB) @ 2.6k
HDD: Seagate Barracuda 1 TB HDD - 5.2k
PSU: Corsair 430CX V2 @2.3k
Optical drive: Asus DRW-24B3ST @1.1k
Cabinet: NZXT source 210 elite @2.5k
Monitor: Benq G2222HDL @7.5k
Graphic Card: Sapphire AMD/ATI HD 7770 1 GB GDDR5 @10k
Keyboard/Mouse: Microsoft 2000 @1.5k
Total = 49k

Recently in my research I read bad reviews about Sapphire card. I am not sure, but can you guys tell me best ( reliable, dependable and with great RMA ) brand for hD 7770 gfx card?

Thanks again guys for your valuable help.

Mouse suggestion was only because you said you wanted to play Counter Strike.

Why don't you rather go for 6870 or gtx 560 for that matter? should cost you around 10-11k. Or you can go for a 6850 at 10k and OC it and then u can spend your extra 1k left in your budget on a better PSU for OCing.

Hi Rohit,

yes, I appreciate your suggestion. But I have been using wireless mouse with my laptop for playing CS and it does not have any issue and it provides lots of convenience. Pls don't mind!

You made a good suggestion here, going with hd 6850 or gtx 560. I check benchmark review and gtx 560 has outperformed both hd 6850 and hd 7770 marginally.

So I adjusted here and there and have following result,

Processor: Intel i5 2400 @10.8k
Motherboard: Intel DH67CL B3 @5.5k
RAM: Corsair DDR3 4 GB (2 x 4 GB) @ 2.6k
HDD: Seagate Barracuda 1 TB HDD - 5.2k
PSU: Corsair 430CX V2 @2.3k Cooler Master Extreme Power Plus 500W @3.4k
Optical drive: Asus DRW-24B3ST @1.1k
Cabinet: NZXT source 210 elite @2.5k Cooler Master Elite 310 Cabinet @ 2k
Monitor: Benq G2222HDL @7.5k
Graphic Card: Sapphire AMD/ATI Radeon HD 6850 1 GB GDDR5 @10.6k Zotac NVIDIA GeForce GTX 560 1 GB DDR5 @ 11k
Keyboard/Mouse: Microsoft 2000 @1.5k

Total : 50.6k

Kindly suggest if finest refinement required anywhere ;)

I think you should go through this thread
*www.thinkdigit.com/forum/power-sup...89-power-supply-blacklist-thread-newbies.html

The PSU you have chosen is on the blacklist. I would suggest to stick with corsair or go for Seasonic s12ii 520w. As for corsair you can go for GS500 or Corsair CX500v2. I don't have much knowledge about cx series so better ask other digitians as well. But i would suggest you to stick with either corsair or seasonic. For pricing you can look at theitwares, theitdepot, primeabgb, flipkart(a little overpriced for some computer components).

No, its completely ok. if you are comfortable with wireless mouse on CS then its completely fine I was only airing my thoughts.

thanks Rohit for that info, you just saved me!

So here is final, although I said it 3 times before :D

Processor: Intel i5 2400 @ 10.8k : 13k
Motherboard: Intel DH67CL B3 @ 5.5k : 5.6k
RAM: Corsair DDR3 4 GB (2 x 4 GB) @ 2.6k : 3.1k
HDD: Seagate Barracuda 1 TB HDD @ 5.2k : 5.3k
PSU: Corsair 430CX V2 @ 2.3k : 2.7k

Cabinet: Cooler Master Elite 310 @ 2k : 1.8k
Monitor: Benq G2222HDL @ 7.5k : 8k
Graphic Card: Zotac NVIDIA GeForce GTX 560 1 GB DDR5 @ 11k : 13.7k
Keyboard/Mouse: Microsoft 2000 Wireless Combo @ 1.5k : 2k

Total : 49.5k : 56.5k

I went to market today and quite shocked with rate they were offering me, almost 7k more than what we have here. I have appended rate of local market.

I would be heavily relying on flipkart, theitwares and some other online store. I found theitwares pretty reasonable in price, not sure about their service though. Anyone here has any any experience with them?

Just found another store selling online computer goods on junglee.com ( amazon's india venture ), BitFang.com - Computer Store, Compare and Buy latest Computer Hardware, PC, Laptop & Electronics Online Shopping in India.

It has very low price for some products. Any one has experienced their service?

I have no idea about bitfang but I have bought my cabinet and my older PSU from theitwares and they were prompt in shipping. As soon as the payment reflected in their account they shipped the product the same day. But i would advise you to call them and ask them the latest prices and availability as the sites smetimes don't get updated as frequently as it should. You can also look at
1) Computer Hardware | Gaming PC | Computer Peripherals | Computer Product
2) Theitdepot - India's First IT Online Shopping Store
3) SMC international

Check the prices on all these e-tailers and if you can find the same product on flipkart at the same price, go for flipkart.

Also please ask around some more about the PSU, I don't think 430w is going to be enough for a GTX 560.

P.S. Don't compromise on a PSU no matter what and gather as much information as you can before you buy a PSU. I have lost my GPU to a faulty PSU once so from then onwards i am always extra cautious while buying a PSU.

Re: PC rig for 50k July 2012

Finally made purchase!! :D

I switched to AOC monitor at end because it has good reviews all over and has 2 hdmi port, Benq G2222HDL does not have any HDMI port.

Here is what I paid for each part,

Intel i5 2400 @ 11000 SL
Intel DH67CL B3 @ 5300 SL
Corsair DDR3 4 GB (2 x 4 GB) @ 1275 SL
Seagate Barracuda 1 TB HDD @ 5000 SL
Corsair 430CX V2 @ 2875 FL
Asus DRW-24B3ST @ 1075 SL
Cooler Master Elite 310 Cabinet @ 1850 SL
AOC 21.5 inch LED - E2243FW2K @ 8490 FL
Zotac NVIDIA GeForce GTX 560 1 GB DDR5 @ 11133 FL
Microsoft 2000 @ 1599 FL

Total : 49597

I purchased most of the part from local dealer Silver Line ( Silverline ), marked with SL above. Few which were either higher priced or not available, ordered on Flipkart, marked FL above. theitwares is cheaper than Flipkart but when I tried to contact the, they do not responded so I preferred Flipkart.

I'll assemble it as soon as I get all parts and will post my experience with the machine.

thanks all for helping me choose my machine!

Are you sure 430w will be enough for gtx 560? I have heard that this card is a bit power hungry

Myth

For the config, 430w is sufficient.
Or else take the 500w for peace of mind :p
