sahilmalikroorkee, the information you're posting is back dated and obsolated. GTX 470 has already reached its end of life.

Sarthak, from the provided information we are not getting any clear idea. Download a software called CPU-Z and run it. It can show you all the informations regarding CPU, Motherboard, GPU, RAm etc.

After installing run it. In the main window you'll find different tabs displaying information for different components. The default selected one is Processor.

before upgrading your graphics card take a look at your PSU too. may be you will need to upgrade that. also post your CPU-Z screen shots.

GTX 550Ti is only ~8.5k

HD6970 is completely different and much more powerful GPU - it will cost your around ~22k

a corsair GS600 (~4k ) is sufficient for a single HD6970 and if you want to get GS800 you better look for Corsair TX650v2 ( ~5.2k ) - both have similar price tag.

Do let us know your total budget for the PSU+GPU ;-)

30K is a very good budget for PSU + GPU. But my suggestion is not to spend that much right now. The reason is you'll be needing atleast a quad core CPU to utilize the highend graphics cards like HD 6870 or above, including HD 6970.
Your current CPU will bottleneck the GPU loke HD 6970.

For now get the MSI HD 6950 2GB Twin Frozr III @ 16K and Corsair TX850V2 @ 6.8K. Keep the rest of the money for a future Processor upgrade

^^ yep, and that's why cilus told him to Keep the rest of the money but Op will need to get a new mobo+cpu+psu anyway;-)

@ OP - you can wait for some more time for the BD cpu release or else sell of your cpu+mobo+ram @ ~3k or more - that will give you 30+~3k

with 33k you can opt for :

MSI HD 6950 2GB Twin Frozr III @ 16K
Corsair GS600 @ 4k
Asus M5A88-M @ 5.5k
Phenom II 955BE @ 5.5k
Gskill Ripjaws DDR3 4GB x1 F3-12800CL9S-4GBRL @ 2k

total = 33k ;-)

Another option is you can look for a second hand Core2Quad CPU like Q9500, Q6600 or Q8200/8300/8400. If you can get one within 5 to 6K, go for it.
