I looking for bench marking tool for a basic home PC(not for gaming).
Looking for a general score or overall score and not only the CPU score.

Found : NovaBench and SiSoft Sandra. Havent run tests yet.
Plz suggest other popular benchmarking tools.
Not sure whether 3Dmark, Sys mark are suitable.

CPU:Older Dual core & Pentium D series
OS:Windows XP
No graphic card

For general benchmarking PCMark 11 will be more than enough.

last month digit bundled a bunch of very nifty benchmarking tools in their dvd
Remember the name of the utility?

Tried 3Dmark 2001(not2011) coz
3DMark 11 is the latest version of the world’s most popular benchmark for measuring the 3D graphics performance of gaming PCs.

PC mark seems to a proper benchmark. Will try it.

Running any 3D bechmark was not an option, wanted a to compare CPU,RAM,HDD performance settled for Passmark Performance test. Was easily able to avoid the 3D benchmark test, also has the flexibility to compare previous results. 30day trial was more than enough.

^^ 3DMark06 and 3DMark Vantage also has a nice cpu benchmark module - give it a try.
