One S vs Sensation XE vs Galaxy Nexus

Hi,

Help me to choose an Android mobile. My budget is 20k. I will not play too much much games.

Requirements:
> Prefer 4.3 inch Screen for portability. Can consider 4.7" if it is really portable.
> Decent Custom ROM Support.
> Decent Camera for indoor & outdoor
> HDMI for TV Out.

These are the top 4 in my mind.

1. HTC One S - Like this very much for its design, great hardware, 4.3" screen. But worried about the notorious Home Button Bug
2. Galaxy Nexus I9250 - Looks good except the camera capability
3. HTC Sensation XE - Allrounder phone
4. Nexus 4 - Great Hardware. High Price in India. I also keep hearing the Glass Back being very fragile.

Other than these 4, I got some recommendations for below.

1. HTC One X - Design looks very good, but 4.7" size and 25k price puts me off.
2. Xolo Q800 - Very affordable and decent phone. Zero Custom ROM Support.

Do have a look at HTC One X and Xperia SP.
One S is not bad at all but One X is a better option as the difference in price is not much.

Thank you. One X definitely looks good and have a premium feel. But, I feel it is looking big for my hand and one hand use isn't that easy. My first preference is a 4.3" screen for being more pocketable. Though Galaxy Nexus has 4.6" screen, physical dimensions looks smaller and very near to 4.3" one.

One S is a very good phone, even comparable to some quad core ones, plus looks great and has a slim profile.. imo go for it

Get Xperia SL
For one handed operation don't get screen size 4.3+. Earlier, when I shifted from galaxy Y to S2, I faced a bit of problems for single handed operation.

BTW I don't think Xperia SL has great custom ROM support. Xperia S has better ROM support.

My opinion would be...... try bigger screen phones(check S3, if u r ok with it, then get Galaxy Nexus)

Its not that big, its difficult to use Note with one hand but there will be no problem in case of One X I guess.

None.

Try to look at Xperia SP, One X or Galaxy S3.

Galaxy S3 is way beyond my budget of 20k. Xperia SP, I think I can get around 22k. I see few recommendations for SP over last few days. My first choice would be a 4.3" one. If I don't get I have to look between One X, Galaxy Nexus and Xperia SP. Thanks for your opinion.

Yeah, much better than Note. One X looks definitely cool.

Thank you. Will the physical Dimensions of GS3 match Galaxy Nexus?

Yeah, these positives along with Camera quality are reasons I thought to buy. I hear 3 major Cons for these phones.
1. Infamous Home Button Bug in low signal areas. Affecting a good number of phones, with no firmware update
2. International/Indian version has some chipping issues coz of some special coating.

Any One S users here has any views about this?

Indian version of One S i.e. One S C2 has very less development support compared to One S...and u wont get original One S with warranty here..if u are fine without warrenty then get original One S or go for galaxy nexus straight away for awesome developer support..another phone would be Xperia L for around 21k...dont expect Xperia SP below 26k at launch here since it will be the successor of Xperia S ..

SP already available for 24k in local stores and 23k on Ebay buddy :)

Don't go for One S or Xperia SL.

SP is 3 times faster than those two.

Yeah. When he said "T mobile version" it means carrier locked.

It was a locked in original. But, it is an unlocked version now to be used with any GSM SIM..

Used phone from ebay....doesn't seems to me a good deal.

Yup, Not a great deal for sure. :( I wanted a US Snapdragon S4 version (to get better development Support and to avoid the chipping Issues with the black model).

Though it was listed in ebay, it ended up to be my colleague. So, I could check the phone in person which was satisfying. Some advantage over Ebay in less chance of cheating.

^^^Thats good if you had a look at that phone before buying.

Yeah, got the phone today. Checked the phone screen after removing the screen guard. No scratches or spots. Phone is in very good condition. First Impression is really nice. Camera looks very capable producing very decent low light shots better than my Canon Point & Shoot Cam.

4.3" size is a nice size. Still, not easy for one hand use though. May be, since I am moving from a 3+ inch phone to 4+ inch phone for the first time, need to spend some time.
