wait for 2 more weeks for release of AMD 785G ddr3 am3 board. else go for this:
amd proceesor - Phenom II X4 940
motherborad - ASUS M4A78-EM
ram - 2x2Gb DDR2 800MHz Corsair XMS2
500Gb HDD - Seagate 7200.12 or Western Digital Caviar Blue/Green
graphic card - Powercolor HD4870or Palit GTS250
DVD drive - samsung
power supply - Corsair VX550W or GlacialPower 650AA 650W

wait for some more time and you will realize it was a wise move.

if u wanna go quick then
gigabyte/msi AM3 board based on amd 770 chipset with SB710 southbridge.

proccy phenom II 550 BE
2GB DDR3 RAM from transcend.
hdd as much u want.
burner any you like
dell monitor S2409/S2209 or samsung S2233SW
psu CX450,
gfx nVidia GTX250/HD4850/HD4870, try to get more VRAM than just best card.
HD4870 is better than HD4670 crossfire.

actually almost thrice if I am not wrong. and to do crossfire u need crossfire mobo too,
and yeah correction for the PSU VX550.

M4A??? which model. m4a78-EM is still a ddr2 board.

anyways wait for 785G chipset based boards. should arrive in two weeks time.

Guys, got the PC.

BTW does anyone here have a Asus P5K PL CM? My built in Via sound card isn't working in Vista 64 bit. Any ideas?

Even the Vista standard drivers don't seem to work.

its M4A78T-E (model uses the 790GX chipset) its a AM3 Socket :razz:

go for Cooler Master Elite 330 for 2k (if you can find it) else Zebronics Reaper without PSU for less than 2k.

What is the price of M4A78T-E BTW? It's a pretty good board and worth only if you can get it inside 9k. And if you are not going to use Crossfire, you better get a cheaper 770G board or wait for 785G motherboards.

I wouldn't suggest the entry level Transcend DDR3 if you are going to overclock the RAM and when you do CPU overclocking (by increasing HT speed), you may have to downclock the RAM frequency to keep it stable (which is not a big thing anyways)
