Network Not Safe - Message on browser - Redmi 1S

I switched on the mobile data on my Redni 1S (Airtel Network) and used the built in browser to access Google.

To my surprise, I got a warning message that current network is not safe. See the screenshot.

What does it really mean. It's https connection and phone is set to get automatic date/time from the network. Sometimes https connection gives warning if you have wrong date/time set, that not the case either. Thanks.

The error text will also show the current date and time of your system. In case this is incorrect, set your system clock to today's date and time (double-click the clock icon on the Windows Taskbar) in order to fix the problem.

Reported for out of context posts.

It will be nice if you explain why network not safe error might occur when system date is not current.

The issue has mysteriously disappeared. Now it does not give that warning any more. Moreover that warning seemed to occur before google.com gets resolved to google.co.in because the address bar still shows google.com.

I could not try Chrome browser in time but when I checked after connecting to my home WiFi and accessing Google thru the default MIUI browser, it did not occur there. It was only present on Airtel 2G (Edge) network.

I was using the default MIUI browser bundled with Redmi 1S.
