Disclaimer: This is not to bash Chrome. In fact, it shows how unbiased Chrome's SSL behavior is. Open GMail and go to its settings. Scroll to the bottom and make it always use HTTPS. Re-Login into GMail with Chrome and from the links on the top left, open Reader. :D
