Need some LAN software

Hi all,
I'm currently looking for two applications.

One, a LAN chat software. I've tried many of them, but they don't seem satisfactory. I just want to hear your opinions about which one is the best.

The second app is something to monitor the LAN connection. I already have a bandwidth monitor, but is there any software that can tell me who is connected to my comp on the LAN, and what he's doing/viewing/transferring? I'm particularly looking for something that could tell me whaich one of my files are being transferred over LAN.

Best is ... LANTalk XP
it uses WinXP's net send command type engine and can work on Win98 etc too.

Bandwidth monitor ..
it has been discussed here many times already .. just search, you'll get few good links.
