Need help to buy a bug free Android device

Hi All,

Planning to buy an android phone( for the first time ) and im not able to come to a conclusion and need help of other users.

Main Look outs
1. Pocket friendly phone
2. Good call clarity and easy to message
3.Decent battery , decent music , fast responsive phone
4.Should be able to support at least the basic games( Not much of a gamer , but might use now and ten )
5.Good camera would be a bonus
Budget : - Starting with 7k , can stretch till 20k.

Tried looking into Galaxy Y and used my friends phone , it was very good but heard in some websites that it has problem with calls being missed and low sound quality. Agree that the screen resolution is very average , but will not complain it for that price.

Tried SE Mini , Mini Pro and Live Walkman ... very much impressed and was about to buy only of the three but when checked in SE forums saw MANY users complaining about heating issue , vibration issue , and phone giving weird sounds. It doesn seem to be a one off case as there were many users reporting about it.

Tried SE Neo at one live demo.. abs loved the design, UI ( when i tried the phone it was around 15.5 in few online shops ). But again users reporting about heating issue and many of them complaining about low memory. Also the price is now 18k in flipkart. Not sure if it is worth it. ( Not again to buy from Letsbuy after few negative reviews here )

Saw reviews of Galaxy R , awesome specs , ICS update. But 4.2 inch is not pocket friendly and also the design is as same as other phones.

Tried looking into HTC mobiles , loved the HTC sense but seen many posts here that HTC battery sucks.

Even after a week full of research done not able to find out a nice android device which is usable and without any major issues. Kindly request advise from pple to share the info and help me buy my first android phone.

Will promise to write a review once I buy a phone ( the least I can do .. )

I think as you will increase your budget, screen size will also increase. Talking about Galaxy Y, it has 3inch screen and as you will go further screen size will reach to around 4. As you are searching for an Android phone which is pocket friendly as well then I will suggest Galaxy Y and believe me there are no such problem with that phone as you have mentioned.

Galaxy Y!?You will hate Android for the rest of your life.
Atleast buy a Defy or Neo V.
Galaxy Y is a piece of cr@p tbh.
There is no such thing called bug free Android.
Learn to live with few force close/restart/freeze if you plan to use Android.
And this is precisely what makes Android so enjoyable(but only if you have some spare time)

^^ he (and a few other) owns Galaxy Y & hence blindly suggest it regardless of budget. their posts has been reported many times for this reason. lets see if admin takes any action.

Neo V is a very good phone. It is still available at timtara and I think also at ebay and sulekha for 15.5k.If you are not comfortable with 4 or 4.2" display then have a look at HTC Desire S for 20-21k you will love it

+1 for Neo V. If I would have any extra money to spare, and a bit of patience, I would have bought Neo V instead of LG's Optimus One. It's super and sexy! I have used a Sony's W550i walkman phone before. And Neo V seems to be Modern and Android avatar of the same! :D

(did I mentioned Optimus One is awesome too, but its sad, it's hard to get now.)

Thank you all for your comments.. Just few doubts before I but the mobile this weekend ...

Looked at Neo V , loved the design but saw in SE forum that many users complain about restarting issue. Is it that serious prob.. Also will the low inbuilt memory cause prob in normal working of the phone...

One more option is Galaxy R , very good specs.. but is it pocket friendly..can we carry around the phone easily..

I know Flip kart is very good in delivery , but can we believe other websites such as sulekha?

Thanks in advance for your valuable suggestions

according to me the most bug less phone would be iPhone 3gs. with ios 5 it would be easier to use. i know android makes a phone lot better when rooted but ios gives seamless performance. no i am not any kind of fan boy
if you dont want to get a apple phone, then Neo V is definitely the phone for your budget.

Around 20k, we have Galaxy R, Xperia Arc and Desire S.
I dont like the Samsung UI. But the internals are awesome. Also ICS update is confirmed.
The SE and HTC UI is good. But Arc and other SE xperia phones comes with really low internal memory and only 335MB RAM.
ICS is confirmed for SE's 2011 xperia line up.
If you can live with the Samsung UI, go ahead with Galaxy R.

Galaxy R is a good phone but I have heard that its camera quality is just average and yes it is pocket friendly, don't worry about its size
And flipkart is the best site and then generally deliver the goods in 2-3 days apart from that letsbuy is also very good and yes Sulekha can also be trusted

There is no totally bug free android...starting from Galaxy y to the Note...actual problem is Android itself...at some or the other point u have to hack or modify something.Better go off for Windows phone 7...good software which is stable, with decent priced hardware...and now the app store is also catching up.
No offence to any Android user...I am also using a galaxy note.

Samsung TW launcher can be replaced easily with other launcher.
Though TW looks very bad,it is very light on the system.
Sense on the other hand is just opposite.
