Need help in deciding mobo and cpu.

1. What is the purpose of the computer? What all applications and games are you going to run? (Stupid answers like 'gaming' or 'office work' will not work. Be exact. Which games? Which applications? Avoid the word 'et cetera.')
Ans:i will be gaming a lot bf3,crysis 3,tomb raider,total war shogun,sniper ghost warrior.and a little video encoding too...

2. What is your overall budget? If you can extend a bit for a more balanced configuration, then mention this too.
Ans:10k and max of 11k

3. Planning to overclock?
Ans:yes

4. Which Operating System are you planning to use?
Ans:win 8

5. How much hard drive space is needed?
Ans:i already hav 2.2tb.so dont need any

6. Do you want to buy a monitor? If yes, please mention which screen size and resolution do you want. If you already have a monitor and want to reuse it, again mention the size and resolution of monitor you have.
Ans:screen size is 21.resolution 1440 x 900

7. Which components you DON'T want to buy or which components you already have and plan on reusing?
Ans:i am planning to reuse my hdd,nzxt phantom 410,corair vs450 450w,asus amd 6670 2gb ddr3

8. When are you planning to buy the system?
Ans:two months

9. Have you ever built a desktop before or will this be done by an assembler?
Ans:yup

10. Where do you live? Are you buying locally? Are you open to buying stuff from online shops if you don't get locally?
Ans:chennai,ya i can buy online

11. Anything else which you would like to say?
Ans: all need is a suggestion for my "mobo and cpu".i alredy brought all the parts i mentioned above.only MOBO and CPU.

Since you are planning to buy them after 2 months it would be better if you post the same 2-3 weeks before purchasing...

well i can buy them any time.if there aren't any good mobo's or cpu's coming soon.then i can buy in 2 days.since its low-midrange sector not many of 'em make it to the top even when released.so in that case there is no point to wait till 2 months..

The Gigabyte B75M-D3H does not offer any overclocking ability worth mentioning. With no voltage options other than vDIMM, and no ability to adjust Turbo multipliers, overclocking is just simply a pain!!
the same with i3-3220.i will be outdated soon if i cant overclock
but thx for the mention!

Within your budget getting a Motherboard with Good OC potential is very hard. If you want to try Hand on OC then Cheapest Option is AMD FX4100 6.5k + Asus M5A97 7k = 13.5k BUT this will be SLOWER in all the Applications you have mentioned apart from the "little Video Editing". So your call..

^FX 4100 is not worth in in its price. The i3 easily beats it .
@ OP You wont get any oc facility config in that budget and also 2 GB Ram is useless for modern games. 4 GB Should be the least.
Add a Corsair 4 GB Value select to Ashish config.

ofcourse i will be upgrading my RAM to 4gb ddr3.
actually that is where my problem is...
the i3 easily beats the FX4100...but to get a good mobo(at that price point) i will hav to choose an AMD cpu..
so what i want is a capable AMD cpu to match the asus M5A97...well it would be good only if we had the FX-4300 in india..
so any suggestions for mobo to match the i3-3220??:-?

The Gigabyte B75M-D3H as suggested by others. i3 3220 is a locked processor and can't be overclocked, no matter how good motherboard you use.

so this is what i came up with...
gigabyte B75MD3H + i3 3220----------->gaming,no overclocking
asus M5A97 + FX6100------------------>a little less gaming,overclocking,good video encoding,future proof(??)
though the AMD build is going upto 13k i am starting to think its worth it..
I can use my M14x R2 for gaming. But for encoding i will hav to use my desktop(HEAT).
so i think AMD will do the trick.

Owning an a10 5800k doesn't puts a compulsion to use the igp. You can use any graphic card with it. Fx 6100 is a good processor, but not at that price. I3 3220 is a better option than fx 6100. Here, a10 is being suggested for being a good quad core processor, not for it's igp. A10 5800k is faster than i3 in multithreaded apps, especially those able to scale well on multiple cores. A10 is a better choice in low to medium gaming (even when equipped with a graphic card) as at low resolution, games are more cpu intensive then gpu intensive (although I'm still searching for a proper benchmark that can show the difference between i3 and a10, both with a graphic card).

I cannot find a decent mobo for A10-5800k that can bring out the best of it in my price range.
the ASRock FM2A85X Extreme6 will do the job,but is out of my price range:cry:
Any suggetions for A10 are appriciated!
