Hi,

I would like to build my own rig. My budget is between 30k - 35k. Main use would be games with decent picture quality, office applications, surfing in the order of priority. Please suggest the configuration for the same.

since u are getting a new system get a colorsit 400W or more PSU.....

350 might do but why take chances... at some point of time u might want to use many USB devices... and PSU might yield

the prices u quote are far above average in some case like the mobo and gfx card prices.... please check at deltapage.com or mahavir.co.in and then go for the deal....

The Config that Samrulez gave resembles the exact same Config recommended by Agent 001 in Digit.:D

As the Hynix Models of 512MB DDR ram is never that freaking costly.Nor is the Pricing is the Motheboard and Processor.
Now coming Back to the main Topic,The config must go somewhat as follows:
AMD Athlon 64 3000+ (S939)
Asus A8N VM
Transcend 512*2 MB DDR RAM @400Mhz
160GB Segate Barracuda SATA HDD @7200Rpm
Samsung/Viewsonic 17"Monitor (Flat)
I-Ball Grabit Cabinet with 400Watts SMPS (OR Opt for a Powersafe 400Watts SMPS)
Creative SBS 370 2.1 Speakers
Microsoft Mouse and Keyboard
Lite-On/Sony DRU810 DVD Writer.

I think 160GB of HDD is useless. My suggestion go with 80GB and why r u want 17" monitor it's also waste of money coz you r building PC not a TV rest above r good

Thanx everyone for replying. I wanted to know whether the mobo mentioned in your posts (Asus A8N VM ) has on board graphics and sound card. Whether it will suffice for playing games at decent resolutions. Instead of Samsung 17" Flat can i opt for a 15" LCD of Benq or Acer.

Yes the Asus A8N VM has onboard graphics and sound. It's good enough to play the latest games at low resolutions and old games at higher resolutions.
Don't take a 15" monitor under any condition. It's too d@mn small. Take a 17" CRT or a 17" TFT if you can afford it.
