Right off the assembly line
I need to buy :

[1]. i3 or i5 processor....5-6k
[2]. Motherboard....4.-5k
[3]. RAM....its cheap already

I have :

[1]. Nvidia 9600GT( don't suggest a new version, i don't play games now)
[2]. 450w PSU

I'll be using PC mainly for heavy browsing, playing music and HD videos.
So shall i3 do fine?

Que 1.
So which processor should i buy?

Que 2.
Please suggest a suitable MOBO, keep in mind i will not use integrated graphics memory. I just need fine...FINE performance for activities described above.

Que 3.
How much RAM would suffice? 8 GB good? less or more?

Que 4.
Do i need more PSU wattage than 450?

Please enlighten me.
Regards.
Chak.

At a budget of 6K, you can't have a i5, you can get a i3 though.

Here is the suggestion:-

Intel Core i3 2100 @ 6K
Gigabyte GA-H61M-D2H @ 3.3K
Corsair Value series 4GB X 1 1333 MHz DDR3 @ 1.1K.

I think that's all. I guess the PSU you're having is basically a local 450W PSU which is till powering up your 9600GT. My suggestion is to get a decent branded PSU as it will offer you better longevity of all your components. Corsair CX430V2 @ 2.2K is the recommended choice here, will help in future upgrades.

Otherwise FSP SAGA II 350W @ 1.5K is also good.

Yes, its a cheap PSU....i'll surely get branded one...thanks for advice.
Is 450w enough?

Though i want Intel processor, my friend told me about AMD A6-3650.
So can anyone draw a comparison between i3-2100 and AMD A6-3650?
I have seen the benchmarks but i am confused. I mean A6-3650 has 4 cores, but i3-2100 has 2 cores but still i3 wins. How?

Because a Faster dual-core cpu can smoke a Slower quad-core cpu
and Intel i3 is newer than the other
