1. What is the purpose of the computer? What all
applications and games are you going to run?
(Stupid answers like 'gaming' or 'office work' will
not work. Be exact. Which games? Which
applications? Avoid the word 'et cetera.')
Ans: Gaming. It should Max games like BF3/BF4, Crysis2/3, Witcher2/3, Assassins Creed 3/4, Fifa 13/14, Nfs Rivals, Watch_Dogs, The Division, The Crew, Mirrors Edge 2, GTA 4/5 and a whole lot more.

2. What is your overall budget? If you can extend a
bit for a more balanced configuration, then
mention this too.
Ans:2 lakhs.

3. Planning to overclock?
Ans: Yes.

4. Which Operating System are you planning to
use?
Ans: Win 7

5. How much hard drive space is needed?
Ans: 2Tb will be enough.

6. Do you want to buy a monitor? If yes, please
mention which screen size and resolution do you
want. If you already have a monitor and want to
reuse it, again mention the size and resolution of
monitor you have.
Ans: No i dont want to buy a monitor. Instead i want to buy a hdtv to hook my both ps3 and pc in. 32"to 46" anything will be awesome.

7. Which components you DON'T want to buy or
which components you already have and plan on
reusing?
Ans: I would like to buy all.

8. When are you planning to buy the system?
Ans: Within 15 days.

9. Have you ever built a desktop before or will this
be done by an assembler?
Ans: Yes. I will build this system.

10. Where do you live? Are you buying locally? Are
you open to buying stuff from online shops if you
don't get locally?
Ans: Open to online shops if the prices are in my favor.

11. Anything else which you would like to say?
Ans: Hi all. I am new to this forum. I think i told you my queries above. Keep the suggestions coming. Thanks

Thanks mate.

These are my queries.

1.Where are the other components i.e., mouse , keyboard etc. etc.?? :-D

2. Why a haswell?? I heard it generates lot of heat and pretty not stable while oc.

3. Dont you think gettin a single Gtx 780 would be better because 2 Gpu's generates heat and consumes more power + some microshuttering on sli.

Rest all looks good to me at this point. Lets see what others members say about this.

And suggest a monitor as i purchased tv today.

Also suggest a good monitor??

For Ram, get 2X8GB modules as I have suggested. I thought the TV budget is included in the budget and suggested accordingly. Now assuming that your TV is a full HD or of 1920X1080 resolution, a GTX 770 SLI is pure overkill for it which is recommended for 2560X1600 or higher resolution. My suggestion is get either a single GTX 780 or GTX 760 SLI.

Why cannot you go for AMD FX Processors so that in case Steamroller will be released in 2014 you can go for it with the same AM3+ Chipset. You then need to change only the Processor right?

Here's my Config suitable for you..

You can contact for the above Asus 990FX/Gen3 MB availability in India :
Mr. Rahul Thakare
Mumbai
Tel No. +91-9819887508
Email: Rahul_Thakare@asus.com

But it is somewhat pricey here in India and also takes a lot of time to get one. So its better to get it from US if anybody is there for you.

Buddy, as he has the budget to accommodate an i7 as well as very powerful GPU, it should opt for it. With 4770K, he will get good amount of performance advantage over FX-8350 and he can upgrade to Brodwell in future without changing anything.

Both the Haswell & Broadwell are having only 4 cores with HT. Performance is good & power consumption is also low in Intel compared to AMD but "more cores the merrier" concept does not apply to Intel anymore right?

One should rely more on benchmarks and real world tests than core count or specs. 4770K will fry anything in its path.

Yes. FX-8350, no doubt is a superb VFM processor but when OP has the budget, then he should go with the best performing components rather than VFM components.

I'd rather you base your system around a pair of GTX 780s or 770s. Get 16GB of Patriot 2133Mhz RAM (I like 4x4GB because of better OCability and tighter timings often being available).

Get a 4770k, and an Asrock Z87 OC Formula or G1. Sniper 5 because the Sabertooth has **** audio. 99% games do not benefit from Hyperthreading, so even a 4670k might be a good choice. You can spend the cash saved there on better components elsewhere. Avoid add-on soundcards when there are mobos with impeccable audio solutions available. Any system with an ALC1150 chip or better is where you should start at.

An asus PA248Q is a good choice of monitor. Get a Steelseries 6Gv2 keyboard (cherry MX red version), and steelseries sensei mouse.

OP should go for Zotac gtx 760 amp edition in SLI @(20K*2)=40K.
It is the best option for you regarding your gaming.Regarding microstuttering, GTX 760 SLI has much smoother gameplay & lesser frame latencies as SLI scales better than Xfire... Since AMD has some stuterring issues in crossfire configuration but AMD has already confirmed that their Multi-GPU Stuttering fix driver will be released in 31 st July which will address all the Frame Latency and Stuttering issues...

Even there is one more option left for OP- Op should also opt for a single sapphire HD 7970 TOXIC edition 6 GB card @42K
Huge memory best for upcoming memory demanding games , best VFM from my side.... :)
