Hi,
I currently have the AMD Phenom II 550 and Biostar TA785G mobo. Want to upgrade to the latest AMD 6 core cpu and a compatible mobo. I don't game so the integrated graphics will be just fine. Also will buy a new PSU. Thinking about the Corsair VX450. I currently have the coolermaster 600 psu. Also thinking of buying some good DDR3 RAM.
Thanks

VX450 is hard to find now. If you are not in gaming then get a FSP SAGA II 500W. It will be more than sufficient and also if at all a mid level gfx is added later it will handle it with breeze.

And If you want Motherboard changed then Go with Gigabyte GA-880GM USB 3 for 4.8k. It has AM3+ socket and supports BD. Also has integrated HD4250 gfx.

The BIOSTAR TA785G3 (there are other two TA785G mobo available) supports any AM3 processors up to 125W TDP, so you can even plug a AMD Phenom II X6 1090T B.E. processor on it, no need to change the motherboard for now.
Get the following components:-

AMD Phenom II X6 1090T B.E. @ 8.6K
Corsair XMS3 1600 MHz 4GB X 1 DDR3 @ 1.5K
Corsair GS600 80+ PSU @ 3.8K

Sorry for replying so late. I'd better wait for the new lineup of AMD cpus coming to market.

Tech_Wiz is right, unlike Gigabyte or MSI, none of the BIOSTAR AM3 mobo support AM3+ CPU. nSo you have to get an AM3+ mobo like Asus M5A series or 970G/990XA/990FXA based motherboard.

No AM3 ( white Socket ) mobo can support AM3+ cpu - so if anyone wants to use a BullDozer cpu he better get a AM3+ mobo ( black socket ) and Biostar has released their first Am3+ mobo ;-)

1 thing Biostar will never learn is to never place PCIe slots together. i remember they releasing (or maybe showcasing) 890FX with 4 PCIe slot packed together & was criticized by everyone.

^^ if you don't wish to use the pci-e x1 and x4 slot then there's enough spacing between pci-e x16 slots which will be used in CF mode - the first white pci-ex16 slot and the red pci-e x16 slot will be used in multi gpu setup - so if they can price it right it will draw attention of many ;-)
