Need backup software

Hi. I'm currently using CrashPlan Free for backup on my home PC. But it lacks many features like real time backup and automatic backups. So now, I have decided to use another software. I'll run the backup on my home PC and save it to external hard disk. Both free and paid softwares are okay; all I need is good feature set and reliability.

acronis used to be good but in recent times there are many complaints about it on on various forums.anyway backup is such a crucial task where any backup software no matter how proven never claim 100% guarantee.i suggest using simply copy paste feature for multimedia content stored in a separate drive/partition & use backup software only for C drive.paragon & macrium reflect both have free versions & also have good reputation so try them.also always test your backup image by restoring it immediately afterwards to make sure everything is working.obviously do this first on a test system or copy all important data from C drive in case something go wrong during restore.

I am the master of my Fate.
@OP: if u want to backup the data then use external HDD and Seagate/WD provide auto backing softwares with them or download them from official website.

can't just backup in another partition of internal HDD.
best backup will be Optical Media

then you don't need softwares like acronis which are better suited for partition/system image.for app data & username folder simply use any file/folder backup software like these:
