^^ iMO kaspersky provides more comprehensive protection than any other AV even though it's more costly.
you could do one thing
1. download the offline update packages of the AV regularly.
2. configure the antivirus on each client to search for updates automatically in a particular directory (preferably shared) ones apart from internet. many antiviruses do provide this functionality.
3. send these updates from server to the client target directory regularly. :)

One & only one option!
Malwarebytes!
Purchase enterprise version and install it!Offers lifetime service and updates!
Couple it with Comdo firewall free and MSE!

Your server will rock!

I have experimented it with free version of Malwarebytes+Comdo+MSE with college laboratory lab assistant is pretty happy!

He doesn't need to worry about virus!

Problem with this AV companies is that they come out with new version & you aren't upgraded to it despite you get database updates!

Hence Malwarebytes is a safe investment!!!

kaspersky is little more resource hungry than bitdefender especially when accessing files. also i have personally experienced that bitdefender was better than kaspersky.

yes, they are resource hungry, nonetheless i recommend them because of the unparalleled functionality they offer and i have a personal liking on their UI :p (btw i use avast.. which is enough if you are sensible over the net and apply a bit of common sense)
