Need a Tablet @30K

Nobody wants to carry loads of devices just because 1 has a good camera and other has godlike sound while the next one has many games. Not to forget each device will have its own battery....

Kindle Fire is an Android based tablet, Android's cons are already listed by the Thread OP.

Tablet are not a replacement for smartphones, try carrying one in your pocket and also when walking around outside try to call someone from it.

Tablets can never replace smartphones. Too big.

He already has a phone, replacing it and getting a combo will give him a good cam when he is outside, and also portability cause I doubt he will be able to carry a tablet everywhere he goes.

And @Tkin:regarding pics,i have already mentioned in my another thread that i've got Canon A2200,so no problem for pics..
i overall want a tablet that could really click good photos help me in reading Ebooks and it should also be the time pass source....in which pics comes very first then games,videos etc..that's why i am considering an Ipad rather than those cheap..fun book,veedee,xtab etc,those may dead any moment!!

Ipad 2 is nice, but I just don't like a closed OS(iOS), I'd advise a android tablet anyday, lot more freedom.

A really true advice is that stay away from samsung. They don't give updates at time even on their flagship models(galaxy tab 750).

Advantages and disadvantages depends on ur preferances sahil..

Android :
1. If you like to fiddle around with things like rooting n all then go with it .
2. It doesnt give the stability of an iOS device.
3. Applications are cheaply available in android market and that too in abundance.
4. But its very difficult to choose good applications from the heap of so many.
5. Cheaper than iPad.

Apple iPad :
1. Nothing beats an iOS device in stability.
2. Closed OS, means you wont be able to change it much as per your wish.
3. Many applications available and they are really good , but they all are costly in comparison to adnroid market.
4. Costly in comparison to android devices.

I think these will help you a little in deciding

Go for Amazon Kindle Fire. Worth the 15k.

PS: You won't get a good cam in a tablet anyway, buy a good smartphone(with a good cam) with the rest of the money you save.

Like this, Kindle fire(15k)+HTC One V/Sony Xperia U/SOLA=30k -> Profit.

This combo will give you everything you need.

One need to have US Billing Address and US Credit Card linked to amazon account in order to download anything from amazon appstore even the free stuff.AFAIK
And no official Play store support.
These two reasons are good enough to skip Amazon Kindle Fire in India under any circumstances.

No.. I dint mean that ... you would be able to upgrade ur OS whenever there are any upgrades.

But not untill its released by Apple itself.

But in case of Android u can even upgrade ur OS even before the upgrade is release by the phone company for ur handset, if u fiddle around with rooting.

Yes, thats a known issue with Amazon.
and i dont like Amazon for tabs, but its amazing if u r a reading buff, and that is not mentioned anywhere in your requirements
so i would also suggest u to skip it..

What if one Likes Jail breaking.???
Rooting in not a bonus or good thing.
Its a necessary evil which has to be committed because of necessary S/W & H/W restrictions imposed by Hardware manufacturer.

2. Closed OS, means you wont be able to change it much as per your wish.

Closed Source OS or Open Source OS like Android doesnt matters much at Common End-User.Though Open source OS has its own advantages.

End user is most concerned about the quality of apps in iOS beast Android hands down in that regard.

Neither Closed Nor Open (Source) OS provides any kind of Access to End-User to change anything in particular.
It proves worthy to Developers and more specifically the modders.

If UI Customisation is what you mean then its a different thing.

Fiddling around with rooting wont get you an Official Update anyway.

Its the manufacturer that releases Official Updates for Device.
Not Modders.
