At ur budget, AMD based system will be best for u and they will provide high performance/price ratio

Processor: Athlon II X4 2.66 GHz Quad Core @ 4.8k
Mobo:
ECS A785GM-M @ 4.8k
Ram:
Transcend 2GB DDR3 1333MHz C9 @ 2.2k
HDD:
Seagate Barracuda 7200.12 500GB @ 2.4k
Monitor: BenQ G2020HD 20" LCD Monitor @ 6.5k
PSU:
Gigabyte 80 Plus Active PFC 460W @ 2.2k
Cabinet: Zebronics Bijli without SMPS @ 1.4k
DVD Drive: LG 22X @ 1.1k
Mouse&Keyboard: Generic @ 0.7k
Gfx Card: Sapphire HD5670 1GB GDDR5 @ 7.3kif you want Dx11 badly. Else go for HD 4850 based cards
Total is around 34k. The Extra 4k really going to help u in future as this rig is very futureproof.

My initial quote was of 34k. So reducing (6.5k+0.7k) from it, it is 26.8k.
So for the extra 3.2k, go for a MSI HD5770 1GB GDDR5 @ 9.6k. Now the total is 29.1k. You are having 1k in hand. So go for a Western Digital Caviar Blue 640GB @ 3.2k HDD.
So ur new config is
Processor: Athlon II X4 2.66 GHz Quad Core @ 4.8k
Mobo:
ECS A785GM-M @ 4.8k
Ram:
Transcend 2GB DDR3 1333MHz C9 @ 2.2k

DVD Drive: LG 22X @ 1.1k
Gfx Card:MSI HD5770 1GB GDDR5 @ 9.6k

Total is 29.3k. Another 700 bucks. Now go for the Athlon II 630 2.8 GHz @ 5.1k

drop ECS & get MSI 785GM E51 & also try get CM elite 310, wil suite ur configuration.

Asus M4A785TD-M EVO is there but i nt seen it anywhere. TD-V EVO is available bt costly.

No, At this range ASUS mobo is not available. You need to spend at least 6.5k for getting one. If you want a little high end one, then go for Gigabyte GA-MA785GMT-UD2H @ 5.5k or MSI 785G-E53 @ 5.5k.You can also go for MSI 785GM-E51 @ 4.6k

thanks again...but i have two more questions....i used an ATI HD4850 card while working on maya but it was significantly slow while rendering..but a friends Nvidia GT 250 was quite fast while rendering...so please suggest me an Nvidia card...i also have 2 gb of DDR2 RAM with me so i am thinking that i won't be buying any RAM now..Is it possible to keep using the DDR2 RAM & then buy DDR3 RAM later?...will the motherboards support both DDR3 & DDR2 RAM?So i can use the remaining 2K in a graphic card...

nope they does not support both rams, so better go for ddr3 ram, and for rendering kinda works you need a pro series gfx cards like firegl from ati or quadro from nvidia and they would be lot costlier ,stck with what cilius has suggested and got m/b GA-MA785GMT-UD2H.

yeah i know...but i have observed that an Nvidia Geforce series card is somewhat faster than an ATI Radeon card in 3D apps....anyway i don't want to debate on that now.
...this is what i have zeroed in on now-
Processor: Athlon II X4 2.66 GHz Quad Core @ 4.8k
Mobo: MSI 785G-E53 @ 5.5k or MSI 785GM-E51 @ 4.6k
Ram:Transcend 2GB DDR3 1333MHz C9 @ 2.2k
HDD: WD Caviar Green, 1 TB @ Rs. 4.5k
PSU: Gigabyte 80 Plus Active PFC 460W @ 2.2k
DVD Drive: LG 22X @ 1.1k

also, i can spare 2k for the cabinet so should i go for an antibiotic or reaper cabinet? can you please suggest an Nvidia card within Rs10,000/-...do you think buying the WD caviar green 1 TB is a good idea?also whats the difference between the two MSI boards that you've suggested?if there is no significant difference i'll go for the cheaper board.

As for cabby u may get CM elite 310 + transparent side panel + 120mm Blue LED. Suggested same to Azaad_shri bro as well.
