motherboard query

My 20 day old ASUS mbd date and time is not showing properly, so i take it to service centre. centre guy said that it is repairable not replaced and if it is beyond repair then it should replaced. is the service centre guy said correct or i should force them for replacement.

no battery is ok. problem is, after computer on it shows the date and time when it was shut down. pl answer my query don't anticipate.

what am i supposed to understand from this? either state it fully or say nothing at all....
now...generally in motherboard stuff...if its repairable...it gets repaired..or it gets replaced..
