Motherboard buying advise

Hello guys,
I need your advise to buy a new intel mobo for my cousin bro whose sound chip went kaput and is out of warranty to replace it.

His system config consists-
Intel C2D E7500,
Asus P5QPL-AM,
2GB DDR2 ram,
Sapphire HD5770,
FSP SagaII 500w,
Win7 Ultimate32bit.

The same board Asus P5QPL-AM costs 2.3k in Primeabgb.com
Please suggest if there is any other available boards better than this under the said budget.
His budget for the board is under 2.5k.
Thanks.

The motherboard you are having is having DDR2 ram slot which is going to be obsoleted within couple of months and currently their price is also on higher side. So I'm suggesting you a mobo having both DDR2 and DDR3 slot. It helps you to extend the lifespan of the rig a little by adding DDR3 ram.
Note that you can't use DDR2 and DDR3 ram simultaneously.

Get the Asus P5G41C-M-LX @ Rs 2450. This one comes with 2 DDR2 and 2 DDR3 slots with up to 8 GB memory support, 1 PCI Express X16 (for your HD 5770), 1 PCI Express X1 and 2 PCI slots, 4 SATA II connectors, 8 channel audio output and Gigabit lan. For details Check here.
