you specified 'any' in preferred operating system and got all android phones in considered phones ,
i request you to get the os matter cleared if you dont want to repent in future.
There are many android phones avialable and i recomend htc explorer.
A for symbian Up your budget get nokia 603 . 500 is crap.
WP7 and iOS is not avialable in that price range.

As said above HTC Explorer - GSM Arena is a nice option.
Further you could try Samsung Galaxy Y - GSM Arena.
Also there is Samsung Galaxy POP Flipkart [8.3k]

All these options are for ur budget.
going for an android phone is the best option.

cheapest android with good photo quality is SE Xperia Mini but cost 11k. LG Optimus Net as well as HTC Explorer have almost similar quality difference only being Net having AF (auto focus).

If you can wait Sony Tipo should cost under 10k and offer same camera as Mini. Avoid POP.

+1 htc explorer....
i have heard optimus net has a bad camera despite being AF....
another suggestion is moto fire xt..costs a wee bit over 9k but has 5 mp cam + flash...

Even though its 5mp and with flash ...the pictures taken are not even good as 2mp camera ....read reviews on net

Explorer certainly has a better camera when compared toalaxy y.
I own galaxy fit, and the camera is amazing !!! It has auto focus and takes amazing photos, 5mp.

cant think of others...galaxy y is nice...i personally own one...
wide developer base on xda with cm almost ready...
but qvga resolution is a royal pain...
explorer and net will run more apps than galaxy y because of their hvga res.

Yeah..you could, price is justified for a good camera.

well If OP is on very strict budget then he should not wait.. as sony miro will be above 10K at least and sony tipo will be 9-10K .. OP should wait only if he can increase budget. .

like others only suggestion for you is to wait for further pricecut on Mini or new mobiles from Sony & Samsung. As Pop, Fit are discontinued Samsung should release some replacement soon.

i have used friends Galaxy Fit. Camera is lot better than other 5MP unit. It lacks flash so low light photography is not possible but the quality is really high sadly that is Fit's only strength as QVGA (240X320) on a 3.3" screen looks really bad. pics are pixelated.

Get Explorer for 8k, its the best android phone in low budget.
If you want a non touchscreen phone, then Samsung Primo i.e. 5610 is really a very good phone.
