here's one proof, that KGB gives faaaar more better results than WinZip, WinRAR...

My Experiment::
copied the Eight save files of GTA San Andreas (from GTA User files) to a new folder.
Then compressed the same folder with different utilities.

Size of the Folder (without compression)= 2.46MB

Result

Utility/Software----------------Size of Compressed folder

1->WinZip - _________________1.37MB
2->WinRAR-__________________1.21MB
3->KGB Archiever- ____________70.3 KB (under normal compreesion).

Its just that most people do not know how to use kgb well...sometime back i was amazed to find Msoffice available for ill**al download which had a size of 2MB... <- not wrong really the whole msoffice 2003 compressed to 2Mb n done using KGB....jus to check it i unzipped it using Kgb which took me 8Hours to obtain the full 300MB odd setup files..
All the above is totally true...i d downloaded the file from softbasket.tk

i think it all depends on type of file u r trying to download
for one type of files
say txt jpg exe or doc

i think matters time taken to compress & compression ratio

for all that i think still

WinRAR & WINZIP rocks

KGB is usefull, as you will have to wait for a week, if you want to compress a big file with it.

Hey everyone . First of all it doens't take a supercomputer for compressing using KGB . & it is very useful for compressing all your critical data for a backup . In most normal cases WinRAR is more than enough mainly 'coz of its speed.
